Man Found Dead In CT Stream Was Strangled, Police Say

The death of a Connecticut man who was found face down in a stream has been ruled a homicide by strangulation by the state Medical Examiner's Office.

The New Haven man, identified as Miguel Rivera, age 62, was found in a stream around 7:10 a.m. on Friday, July 19, in a stream in the area of Hemingway Street.

According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, the medical examiner conducted a preliminary examination of Rivera on scene, and no signs of trauma were located at the time. They took custody of the body and performed an autopsy.

Upon completion of the examination, the OCME ruled the manner of death to be a homicide by strangulation, Bruckhart said.
